5th December - EKC youth receive recognition for good behaviour -  Emporium parties who ran the kids Xmas party said that they were the most polite and happy children they had ever seen and how great it was that they all joined in. Bearing in mind how many parties they must organise, this is excellent recognition and something that the East Kent Centre, parents, Grand parents and youth should be proud of.

26th November - All members are reminded to respect the marshals and not arrive before the opening time at rallies, especially at schools this time of year. Marshals are not allowed to arrive very early at schools and results in little time to prepare the site for your arrival. Early arrivals not only causes problems with marshals but results in annoyance to school staff and fellow members who abide by the rule.

26th November - With the festive period fast approaching, many members will be enjoying themselves at the East Kent Xmas dance, Xmas rallies and New Year? If you have a great time, why not share your photos and / or  appreciation on our photo gallery, Facebook group or guestbook?

26th November - GS spares has assured the Centre that GAS will be available at Hoo.

8th November - Congratulations to Martin & Judith Hopkins who over the moon to announce the birth of their Granddaughter Matilda Elspeth Bronwen Day - born 29th Oct 2011 and weighing in at 7lb 12oz.  Their daughter and new Mum Nicola was Youth Section President in 1996. 

1st November - Food will be on sale at Sellindge Friday - Sausage or Burger, Chips and beans. Saturday -  Burger or Sausage in a roll and soup.

31st October - 6kg & 13kg gas will be available at the Sellindge bonfire rally.

31st October - If you need to contact Derek Horman, please use his mobile number as there is a fault with his land line and will not be repaired in the near future.

21st October - The number of units currently booked into the bonfire rally is low. This is making it really difficult to budget for the fireworks. If you are attending this rally, the committee would really appreciate if you could book in ASAP.

You can raise money for the youth charity by using the East Kent Centre website when shopping online at places like Tesco, Argos, Amazon, Ebay, Comet and M&S. It is totally free, all you need to do is register and enter the 'shop' of your choice through this website.  A percentage of what you spend will go to the centres charity. Please use the shop tag on the left hand side of this page to enter the online fundraising page. You can go direct to our fundraising area using this address http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ccekc. If you do not wish to register your own email address, please use user name shop@eastkentcentre.co.uk password abc123.

17th October - The nominations have now closed for the Regional AGM for 2012. They are as follows :- Chairman - Brian Taylor (Past EKC Chairman), Vice Chairman - Mr Paul Funnell , Honorary Secretary -  Mr Peter Newman (Past EKC Chairman), Regional Treasurer - Mr Dave Bruce & Mr Bob Heavens & Mr Mark Sinclair - Watson. There will be a vote will take place for the position of Regional Treasurer. The the South East Region AGM is at Midhurst Intermediate School on 12th November. 14th October - The social charges for Burns night at Sturry are, £4.50 for adults and £2.50 for children. Please state on the booking slip if you want haggis or the sausage alternative.

14th October - The Soapbox Derby held at Swanley has had a DVD produced by Jennie Edwards it is a really excellent keepsake and very well produced. Copies can be obtained from Terry McDonald for £2.50 of which £1.50 goes to our charity. If you would like a copy please email your order to Terry terrymcdonald@eastkentcentre.co.uk Please indicate which is the next rally you are attending where it can be delivered, or see him on the rally field. Alternatively it can be posted to you but you will need to pay Post and Packing at cost.

9th October - Message from Margaret Kinchin - The Christmas dance rally at Hoo, 2nd to 4th December, is filling up fast. There is a limited number of vans, so to avoid disappointment, you are advised to book in early.

7th October - Website yearly update completed - Chairman's welcome, Committee, Past Chairman, History and Contacts page updated

7th October - One for the diary.  The next Bi Annual General Meeting for Southern Centres will take place on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 at The Churchill School, Rysted Lane, Westerham, Kent.  TN16 1EZ. It will be an evening meeting and more details will be posted on the website in January.

3rd October - Sellindge Firework Rally - East Kent are in the final stages of organising the joint bonfire rally with South Essex at The Homestead Sellindge. There is a lot planned for the weekend which includes hot food both Friday and Saturday. Also there will be a Guy making competition (bring own material) As usual, the amount of fireworks depends on the number of vans attending, profits from the hot food and the raffle, so supporting these will make the weekend go with a bigger 'bang'.  Due to the economic climate and the trend of lower numbers attending rallies the committee are finding it difficult finalise the orders, so If you are planning to attend and have not yet booked in, please contact Gary Fisher just to confirm your interest. Further details on food and prices will be posted on the website soon.

27th September- AGM change of venue  

Due to extensive building work at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, the rally and AGM has had to be changed to The Spires Academy, Sturry.

The Youth AGM will take place at The Spires Academy at 1:30pm.

The East Kent AGM will take place at The Spires Academy at a later time of 3:30pm.

There will be somebody at the Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys until 3pm, and the extra 30 minutes will allow time for anybody who doesn't get this message, to travel to The Spires Academy.

Directions - From Canterbury on A28 bear Right after level crossing and continue on A28, turn Left into Bredlands Lane, school on Left. Follow EKC signs.                                                                                                                                     

The Officers and Committee apologise for this late change.                                                            

26th September - The 2012 rally book will be available to members at the New Year rally. If you want to receive a rally book by post, please send a stamped addressed envelope (C5 + 92p stamp - 2 first class stamps) to the Hon Secretary. The interactive rally program will be active on the website early in the New Year.

              - Fire blankets and fire buckets to be purchased for the party tent and communal BBQs.

              - Members are requested to test heaters outside before bringing them into the party tent.

              - Marshals are requested to ensure party tents are not erected close to fences and hedges to ensure easy exit in case of an emergency.

3rd April - The social fee at Detling has been set at £2 per adult 50p for children. This covers the food and the "Treasure".
