East Kent Members - Unfortunately, re-registration has to be carried out every year and does often get missed. Please ensure you check your centre registration details online at the caravan clubs website www.caravanclub.co.uk/local-groups or by contacting East Grinstead. This is especially important close to the AGM if you wish to speak, vote, stand for committee or propose or second a notice of motion.

5th February - Rally book update - Cuxton rally 13th to 15th April, Marshal phone number published in the 2012 fixture book not correct. The correct phone number is 01634867577.

5th February - It is with regret to announce that John Jerome has suddenly and sadly passed away. The East Kent centres sincere sympathy goes to his partner Kay and family at this very sad time. Funeral arrangements are currently unknown, but the website will be updated as soon as the details are known.

5th February - On 3 January 2012 the French government issued a new law that effectively bans all systems that are able to provide warnings of safety cameras (aka speed cameras). This law includes all Sat Nav based systems. With immediate effect it has become illegal for anyone travelling in France to have any speed camera warnings on any device across the entire territory of France. Anyone driving in France who is stopped by the police and caught using a device with safety camera warnings could face a fine of €1500, irrespective of their country of origin. The advice for all Sat Nav users, is to disable safety camera warnings before driving within France.

1st February - Message from Ricky Bailey - If any member would like to help me with my chef training and can attend the Medway campus Pavilion restaurant over the next 3 months, between 12 noon and 1:30, you can take advantage of a fantastic 3 course meal for only £6. 1st February - Jay and Carol Williams would like to announce the safe arrival of their first grandson. Joshua was born on 31/01/12 weighing 9lb 6oz and he is beautiful, mum and baby are both well and doing great.

1st February - Southern Centres AGM Guest Speakers:- Darren Charnock is delighted to announce that Southern Cenres have from East Grinsted (Head Office of the Caravan Club ), Catherine Ford - Head of Publications and Sandie Govier - Production Information Executive. They will be giving a presentation on 'Club Together' and also on the 'New Look for Centres' in the Club's Magazine.

29th January - Kevin and Margaret Kinchin would like to say a big thank for all the cards and kind thoughts they received. Margaret is now answering calls and emails if you need to contact her.

26th January - The officers and committee would like to thank all the members who have communicated to them in many ways about the size of the print and the lack of prices in the 2012 rally book. You can be assured that they fully understand the issues and are committed to provide updates to you all as soon as possible.

26th January - Members are reminded they must request a 2012 rally book. Any members wishing to receive a rally book by post, please send a stamped addressed envelope (C5 + 92p stamp - 2 first class stamps) to the Hon Secretary. Alternatively, you can pick one up at any future rally.

26th January - The 'book by' dates in the 2012 rally book are not correct for Tunstall, Hoo, Tonbridge, Colchester, Cuxton, Swanley, Stailfield Green, Cliftonville, Faversham, Headcorn, Maidstone (5th Oct) and Whitfield. All rallies should close 2 weeks prior to the rally, and the 'book by' dates are now correct on the fixtures page.

23rd January - Cliftonville rally 24th to 27th August. The marshals in the 2012 fixture book are incorrect. Currently there is no marshal for this rally. If any member is interested in marshalling this rally or Sandwich 3rd to 5th August , please could they contact a member of the committee.

22nd January - Rally Update - Greatstone 9th to 11th March - There will be no gas at this rally. Saturday evening there will be a beetle drive with a difference and an American Supper. There will be no charge for the Saturday Social but a small extra charge may be required if the hall is available on Friday night.

18th January - Tunstal 3rd to 5th February rally details - On Saturday morning a full English breakfast will be served with all profits going to the youth section. Cost: £ 2.50 Adult and £ 1.75 Child. Saturday afternoon tea & cakes will be sold. Saturday night at the races with a Casserole meal followed by cheesecake desert served during the evening. Cost: £ 3.80 Adult. and £ 2.40 Child. There will also be a limited number of table top games to play , please feel free to bring along any others to play with your fellow ralliers. To help the marshals prepare for the evening meal, please book ASAP and let them know if you prefer Beef or Chicken.

15th January - The East Kent Centre sincere sympathy goes to Kevin Kinchin whose Mother passed away today. Please direct any East Kent business to Derek Horman or Kevin Bailey and not Margaret Kinchin until further notice.

14th January - West Kent dinner and dance booking form uploaded to the website click here. Please note that the venue has a bio-system so there is no ELSAN emptying point. The Club House toilets are open from 7.00am-11pm.

13th January - The funeral of Les Perkins will take place at 3pm on Thursday 19th January at Bobbing Crematorium (click here) . It is requested that there are no flowers and any donations to caner research please.

12th January - For everybody who attended the Southern Centres rally and requested East Kent book Frankenstein, the committee are pleased to announce that they have been approached and have agreed to perform at this years joint birthday and 1500th rally. More news to follow regarding events at this rally.

8th January - KJ Killick and Kylie Elvin are pleased to announce the birth of Riley who was born on the 6th January at 2.45 am weighing 9lb 3.

7th January - Banham zoo rally 1493a fixture charges are 5 nights £80, 4 nights £64.60, 3 nights £49.20, 2 nights £33.80, 1 night 18.40. Fixture fee includes EHU. Currently the rally has a limit of 30 vans and the marshals already have received 10 bookings. You are strongly advised to book early if you wish to attend.

7th January - Middlesex Easter invite to Port Lympne 1492a - The opening date and time, also closing date in the 2012 fixture book is incorrect. The rally opens on Thursday 5th April at 2PM and closes on Wednesday 11th April. The price of the rally is £9 per night + £1.80 admin + £1.20 Plaque fee. Contact details, rally details along with all other changes have been updated on the fixture page.

7th January - The Folkestone 1494 rally route in the 2012 fixture book is incorrect. Please ignore the directions from Maidstone.

7th January - The Tonbridge 1489 rally closure date in the 2012 fixture book is incorrect. The rally closes on the 19th February.

5th January - Due to work commitments, the marshals of Sandwich, 3rd to 5th August 1507b, have had to withdraw. If any member is interested in marshalling this rally, please could they contact Margaret Kinchin.

4th January - It is with regret to announce that Les Perkins sadly passed away this morning. Les served on committee and held the post of Fixture Secretary in 1985. Les is the father of East Kent past Chairman Terry Perkins. The East Kent centres sincere sympathy goes to Jean, Terry and his family at this very sad time. Funeral arrangements are currently unknown, but the website will be updated as soon as the details are known.

4th January - The Cuxton rally 1493b 13th to 15th April, fixture fee published in the 2012 fixture book is incorrect. Revised fees are £15 .00 for two nights and £9.00 for one night.
